Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. dried egg noodles
  • 2 cans (5 oz. each) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, garlic, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the flour to the skillet and stir until well combined. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking, constantly stirring, until the sauce has thickened.
Stir in the sour cream, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Add the drained tuna and frozen peas to the skillet and stir to combine.
Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and stir gently to coat the pasta with the sauce.
Transfer the mixture to a 2-quart baking dish and smooth the top.
In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the casserole.
Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes until it's hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
